FAQ: How Are These Eggs Carved?  (Page 3)

The egg is now etched to a controlled depth and details are added.

 

After the etching and detailing, there are spaces to be laced (cut out).  Carving and finishing follow.

A length of waxed dental floss is threaded through a strong portion of the egg, securely knotted and hung outside.  Three coats of clear matte acrylic spray is then applied.  After drying, the eggs are packed for shipping.
